NOBLE FOUNTAIN PEN MADE OF SILVER, HIGH-QUALITY BALLPOINT PEN MADE OF SPECIAL WOOD OR LUXURY FILLER MADE OF PURE GOLD
ELBWOOD stands for handcrafted writing implements in a minimalist design. In Frank Pressentin's writing instrument manufacture, unique writing instruments are produced in individual and small series production.
The artist & creative craftsman produces fine writing instruments and accessories for lovers of writing culture with devotion. By hand and with an eye for special details, he creates extraordinary, one-offs in his Hamburg studio workshop. Made of precious metals, precious woods or the finest ebonite: Here lovers of fine pencils can have their own individual piece made to order. The production of such a unique piece currently takes 8-12 weeks.
In addition to the exclusive and naturally expensive one-off production, Frank Pressentin has also been offering his hand-made fountain pens in small series since autumn / winter 2021. That's why his beautiful fountain pens have also been available in a beginner-friendly basic edition since then. The materials brass, copper, nickel silver and oak play a major role here. The first is the pocket fountain pen POCKETMASTER and its bigger siblings the piston fountain pens LONGCAP and SHORTCAP, which can be equipped with ink cartridges in addition to the traditional converter.
Of course, he remains true to the high standards of his one-man manufacture here as well:
"Except for the nib, which is manufactured exclusively for me by the renowned JoWo Schreibfeder GmbH, I don’t give anything out of the house!"
“I am pleased that I can now offer stainless steel nibs with the ELBWOOD logo in addition to the wonderfully soft writing 18k gold nib. Now the gold nibs are available in 4 colors (yellow gold, rose gold, rhodium-plated and bicolour) and 4 line widths (EF, F, M, B) and the stainless steel nibs in 3 colors (stainless steel, gold-plated and black.) And 3 line widths (EF, F , M). This diversity is important for lovers of handwriting and represents an absolutely unique selling point in the writing instrument manufacturing scene. If you want, you can replace or upgrade the nibs at any time. ”
With all writing implements from ELBWOOD - THE HANSEATIC PENMAKER, analog craftsmanship meets hanseatic, restrained design. Pure understatement.
“I work - like a sculptor - from solid materials and prefer materials with character. I do not use industrial paints to preserve the surface. This means: my fountain pens & ballpoint pens will change over time and with use. They develop their very own patina. This is the natural path to outstanding beauty. ”
“The form is the stage for the material.”
Even if it seems like an anachronism in our digital age: ELBWOOD consciously relies on the classic, analogue writing instrument. But not as any mass product, but as an applied art object.
Frank Pressentin is not interested in industrial production, quickly and cheaply injected into a mold overseas with plastic. He takes his time and thinks about the lower value that becomes noticeable when the pen glides over the paper. Which everyone can feel when they pick up one of their fountain pens.
“Those who write by hand touch the heart.”

“Who needs keys anyway?”
