<transcy>HANDCRAFTED WRITING INSTRUMENTS IN LIMITED SPECIAL EDITIONS</transcy>

The inspiration to design a writing instrument beyond the ELBWOOD basic editions that tells a very special story is always found.

The reasons for this can be very different: A special place that impresses with its atmosphere or history. A extraordinary combination of materials that appeals to the designer Frank Pressentin. An event that should be appreciated. Or a bow to a personality whose life and thinking have made a difference.

This is how highly personal, exclusive pieces are created, which reflect the attitude on which ELBWOOD is based : full of character, straightforward, uncompromising.

Unlike the basic ELBWOOD range, Frank Pressentin produces these objects only in limited quantities. The requirement varies from case to case. Five pieces, fifty pieces - the availability of the material and the time it takes to manufacture determine the quantity here.

What all ELBWOOD special editions have in common: They are no longer new placed when all pieces have found an owner.

<transcy>THE WRITING INSTRUMENT IN A DIALOGUE OF MATERIALS</transcy>

ELBWOOD special editions are all characterized by their extraordinary material combinations. The selected materials usually result from the idea on which an edition is based. Every now and then, however, the cause is the material itself. A rare wood, a fascinating metal or even a material that is not traditionally used for writing instrumentsts can provide Frank with the inspiration for a new masterpiece.

These pens are often created as exhibits for galleries or museums. They are initially in good hands there, but a display case must not be their final destination. An ELBWOOD piece is made to be written with. It only fulfills its purpose through the dialogue between functionality and design.

For this reason, these very special exhibits will sooner or later be found in the ELBWOOD online shop  waiting for their new owner. Admittedly, it takes a little luck and the right time to discover these highlights. But if you get hold of one of these pieces, you can be sure that you have something really unique.

<transcy>Precious writing instruments with unique status</transcy>

<transcy>HIGHLIGHTS BEYOND THE ASSORTMENT</transcy>

The ELBWOOD basic editions use a combination of brass, nickel silver or copper with fine accents of different woods or ebonite. Pure, timeless elegance full of character. The pieces are made continuously, and if they are not in stock, they can be pre-ordered at any time.

The special editions are only available in limited editions. These pieces are not only a luxury for their owner, but also for their creator: Here Frank can experiment with materials and combine materials more freely. Ebonite and wood are given more space in the design of the writing instrument, while silver is added to the range of metals – either pure or as a carrier material.

The one-off production fulfills unusual wishes: The ELBWOOD fountain pen that you have always wanted is created here exclusively for you. The rarest woods and valuable precious metals are also available. For example Mokume-Gane: The Japanese forging technique, which has become rare, combines various precious metals into a surface whose grain is almost reminiscent of wood. After a detailed preliminary discussion, Frank Pressentin will design your individual writing instrument according to your ideas.
