ELBWOOD - The Hanseatic Penmaker

POCKETMASTER MONO, design pocket fountain pen made of pure ebonite "aquamarine", handmade

€295

In contrast to its metal siblings , the POCKETMASTER MONO is ultra-light. It is made entirely of high-quality ebonite "Aquamarine U5.5".

Ebonite is a sustainable natural material, which is obtained from the caoutchouc of the rubber tree. It was developed in the 1920s for the construction of luxury writing implements and has an extraordinarily warm and hand-flattering, elegant feel. In addition, ebonite is extremely robust, insensitive to scratches and resistant.

The ebonite comes from one of the last remaining manufactories in the world that is fully committed to this historical material: The Schönberger Ebonite Manufactory from Hitzacker on the Elbe has been around for years a reliable partner of ELBWOOD.

Frank Pressentin is creative craftsman with artistic demands on form, material and quality. His brand ELBWOOD - The Hanseatic Penmaker moves with international ambition at the interface of applied art & design.

The machines in the atelier workshop are precise, old and mechanical analogue. They are manually controlled - not digital. Frank Pressentin always works from full material and designs directly on the running lathe. Emotions are transferred to the hand on the work - like a sculptor.

This guarantees that no piece is ever truly equal to. As he sees it, this is the only way to true one-offs.

THIS POCKET PEN IS A UNIQUE DESIGN MASTERPIECE.

At just 10 cm long, the POCKETMASTER MONO is probably the smallest full-size fountain pen in the world. If you unscrew the cap and screw it back on at the back end, you get a perfectly balanced writing instrument that you will enjoy using. The short cap and shaft expose the ribbed grip zone in the middle, creating a very special eye-catcher.

The 0.5 mm deep furrows are cut into the material using a special knurling cutter and ensure safe spring guidance. The short end is threaded, onto which the cap is screwed for extension.

Its design language is reduced, elegant and absolutely timeless. The POCKETMASTER MONO fits comfortably in even the largest of hands. Screwed together, it disappears in your pocket.

The nibs are considered to be the heart of a fountain pen. The nibs exclusively embossed with the ELBWOOD logo are made by JoWo Berliner Schreibfeder GmbH - one of the world's most renowned manufacturers of this rare art.

Exclusively for the POCKETMASTER MONO there is a black stainless steel nib with the nib strength:

  • Extra Fine (EF)

  • Fine (F)

  • Medium (M)

  • Wide (B)

Size: JoWO No. 6

An upgrade to an 18 carat / 750 gold nib is possible at any time. (Please order here separately.)

All ELBWOOD nibs have been interchangeable since January 1st, 2023.

The POCKETMASTER MONO is filled with a standard ink cartridge. A few cartridges in "royal blue" are included in the scope of delivery for a quick start.

Length closed: 10cm / length open: 12.5cm / diameter: 12.5mm / weight: approx.10g

The ebonite will change in color due to the effects of UV radiation. If you don't like this, you can polish the filler again at any time. However, this is not a reason for complaint - I consciously choose materials with "obstinacy". Frank Pressentin

THIS POCKET PEN GETS BEAUTIFUL WITH AGE.

This edition of the POCKETMASTER MONO pocket fountain pen is continuously available.
